Skype Webcam Not Working
Skype is one of the most popular Instant Messaging (IM) and Voice over IP (VoIP) services available for computers and smartphones. If you use Skype regularly for meetings, then you might be using your Webcam very often as well. However, what do you do if the Skype Webcam is not working? Troubleshooting this issue may take a few minutes, but we strongly recommend trying to fix this issue as soon as possible. Start by Updating Skype
Running an old version of Skype may cause all sorts of conflicts with your peripherals and drivers. We advise you to apply the latest Skype updates immediately to make sure that you will not encounter issues such as your Webcam or microphone not working.
You can open Skype and then go to Settings -> Help & Feedback. You will see a notification if there are any pending updates.
Does Skype Have Access to your Camera?
If you are running the latest version of Windows, you may want to check your privacy settings. Go to Start Menu -> Settings -> Privacy. Once there, choose Camera and then make sure that the option Allow apps to access your camera is turned on.
Check Skype’s Configuration
There is a chance that your Skype might have the wrong hardware configured. Open Skype and go to Settings -> Audio & Video. Use the dropdown menu underneath the Camera section to select your primary webcam.
Reinstall Skype
