MNX Ransomware er en ny Phobos-klon

MNX ransomware er en ny klon som utvider Phobos-familien av løsepengevarevarianter.

MNX oppfører seg stort sett som andre nyere Phobos-kloner. Den vil kryptere filer på tilkoblede systemstasjoner og be om løsepenger.

Krypterte filer går gjennom en navneendring, ettersom MNX-ransomwaren legger til en lang ny utvidelse som består av brukerens ID-streng, e-posten som brukes av hackerne og ".MNX"-strengen. En fil kalt "image.jpg" vil bli til "image.jpg.id[offer-ID].[decrypt@techie.com].MNX".

Filtyper som vil bli kryptert på et infisert system inkluderer de vanlige - dokumenter, mediefiler, arkiver og databaser.

Når løsepengevaren er ferdig med å kryptere systemet, vil den slippe løsepengekravene i to filer kalt "info.txt" og "info.hta". HTA-filen vises i et popup-vindu og inneholder den mer uttømmende versjonen av løsepengene, som lyder som følger:
