MNX Ransomware är en ny Phobos-klon
MNX ransomware är en ny klon som utökar Phobos-familjen av ransomware-varianter.
MNX beter sig i stort sett som andra nya Phobos-kloner. Det kommer att kryptera filer på anslutna systemenheter och be om lösen.
Krypterade filer genomgår en namnändring, eftersom MNX ransomware lägger till en lång ny förlängning som består av användarens ID-sträng, e-postmeddelandet som används av hackarna och ".MNX"-strängen. En fil som heter "image.jpg" kommer att förvandlas till "image.jpg.id[offer-ID].[decrypt@techie.com].MNX".
Filtyper som kommer att krypteras på ett infekterat system inkluderar de vanliga - dokument, mediefiler, arkiv och databaser.
När ransomwaren är klar med att kryptera systemet kommer den att släppa sina krav på lösen i två filer som heter "info.txt" och "info.hta". HTA-filen visas i ett popup-fönster och innehåller den mer uttömmande versionen av lösensumman, som lyder som följer:
