MNX Ransomware è un nuovo clone di Phobos

MNX ransomware è un nuovo clone che espande la famiglia Phobos di varianti ransomware.

MNX si comporta in gran parte come altri recenti cloni di Phobos. Crittograferà i file sulle unità di sistema connesse e chiederà un riscatto.

I file crittografati subiscono un cambio di nome, poiché il ransomware MNX aggiunge una lunga nuova estensione composta dalla stringa ID dell'utente, l'e-mail utilizzata dagli hacker e la stringa ".MNX". Un file chiamato "image.jpg" si trasformerà in "image.jpg.id[ID vittima].[decrypt@techie.com].MNX".

I tipi di file che verranno crittografati su un sistema infetto includono i soliti: documenti, file multimediali, archivi e database.

Una volta che il ransomware ha terminato di crittografare il sistema, rilascerà le sue richieste di riscatto all'interno di due file denominati "info.txt" e "info.hta". Il file HTA viene visualizzato in una finestra pop-up e contiene la versione più completa della nota di riscatto, che recita come segue:
