Chily Ransomware bruker HTML Ransom Note
En ny løsepengevare ble oppdaget av forskere i slutten av november kalt Chily løsepengevare.
Chily gjør ingenting spektakulært eller veldig forskjellig fra andre løsepengevarevarianter. Det vil kryptere de fleste filer på datamaskinen din og la innholdet være kryptert. Krypterte filtyper inkluderer de vanlige - dokumenter, mediefiler, arkiver og databaser vil alle være kryptert.
Når filene er kryptert, får de en ny utvidelse som består av kontakt-e-posten som brukes av løsepengevareforfatteren. Dette vil gjøre en fil som heter "document.doc" til "document.doc.[Chily@Dr.Com]".
Løsepengene leveres i en .hta-fil som inneholder dynamisk HTML. Sammen med dette vil bakgrunnen også bli endret av løsepengevaren. Løsepengefilen heter "Read Me.Hta" og inneholder følgende tekst:
