A Chily Ransomware HTML Ransom Note-ot használ

Új ransomware-t fedeztek fel kutatók november végén, a Chily ransomware néven.

A Chily nem csinál semmi látványosat vagy nagyon különbözik a ransomware többi változatától. Titkosítja a legtöbb fájlt a számítógépén, és kódolva hagyja a tartalmukat. A titkosított fájltípusok közé tartoznak a szokásosak – a dokumentumok, médiafájlok, archívumok és adatbázisok mind titkosítva lesznek.

A titkosítást követően a fájlok új kiterjesztést kapnak, amely a ransomware szerzője által használt kapcsolattartási e-mail címből áll. Ezzel a „document.doc” nevű fájlt „document.doc.[Chily@Dr.Com]”-vá alakítja.

A váltságdíjat egy dinamikus HTML-t tartalmazó .hta fájlban szállítják. Ezzel együtt a háttérképet is megváltoztatja a ransomware. A váltságdíjat kérő fájl neve "Read Me.Hta", és a következő szöveget tartalmazza:
