Chily Ransomware använder HTML Ransom Note
En ny ransomware upptäcktes av forskare i slutet av november, kallad Chily ransomware.
Chily gör inget spektakulärt eller mycket annorlunda än andra ransomware-varianter. Det kommer att kryptera de flesta filer på din dator och lämna innehållet förvrängt. Krypterade filtyper inkluderar de vanliga - dokument, mediefiler, arkiv och databaser kommer alla att krypteras.
När de väl är krypterade får filerna ett nytt tillägg som består av kontaktadressen som används av ransomware-författaren. Detta kommer att förvandla en fil med namnet "document.doc" till "document.doc.[Chily@Dr.Com]".
Lösenedeln levereras i en .hta-fil som innehåller dynamisk HTML. Tillsammans med detta kommer tapeten också att ändras av ransomware. Lösenanteckningsfilen heter "Read Me.Hta" och innehåller följande text:
