Chily ransomware utiliza nota de rescate HTML
Los investigadores descubrieron un nuevo ransomware a fines de noviembre llamado Chily ransomware.
Chily no hace nada espectacular ni muy diferente de otras variantes de ransomware. Cifrará la mayoría de los archivos en su computadora y dejará sus contenidos codificados. Los tipos de archivos cifrados incluyen los habituales: todos los documentos, archivos multimedia, archivos y bases de datos estarán cifrados.
Una vez cifrados, los archivos reciben una nueva extensión compuesta por el correo electrónico de contacto utilizado por el autor del ransomware. Esto convertirá un archivo llamado "document.doc" en "document.doc.[Chily@Dr.Com]".
La nota de rescate se entrega dentro de un archivo .hta que contiene HTML dinámico. Junto con esto, el ransomware también cambiará el fondo de pantalla. El archivo de la nota de rescate se llama "Read Me.Hta" y contiene el siguiente texto:
