Chily Ransomware wykorzystuje żądanie okupu w formacie HTML

Pod koniec listopada badacze odkryli nowe oprogramowanie ransomware o nazwie Chily ransomware.

Chily nie robi nic spektakularnego ani nie różni się zbytnio od innych wariantów oprogramowania ransomware. Zaszyfruje większość plików na komputerze i pozostawi zaszyfrowaną zawartość. Zaszyfrowane typy plików obejmują zwykłe - dokumenty, pliki multimedialne, archiwa i bazy danych będą szyfrowane.

Po zaszyfrowaniu pliki otrzymują nowe rozszerzenie składające się z kontaktowego adresu e-mail używanego przez autora oprogramowania ransomware. Spowoduje to zmianę pliku o nazwie „document.doc” na „document.doc.[Chily@Dr.Com]”.

Żądanie okupu jest dostarczane w pliku .hta zawierającym dynamiczny HTML. Wraz z tym oprogramowanie ransomware zmieni również tapetę. Plik z żądaniem okupu nazywa się "Read Me.Hta" i zawiera następujący tekst:

All your files have been encrypted!

All your files have been encrypted due to a security problem with your PC.

If you want to restore them, write us to the e-mails: chily at tuta dot io and Chily at Dr dot Com and chily65 at proton dot me
