Is the Asistchinadecryption Ransomware Decryptable?
A new file-locker is lurking online, and it appears to belong to one of the less popular ransomware families, ZEPPELIN. Unfortunately, this is not necessarily good news. The ZEPPELIN Ransomware is not decryptable, and its victims will still have a difficult time restoring access to their data. When the Asistchinadecryption Ransomware takes over your system, you will be unable to view documents, pictures, videos, spreadsheets, and many other types of files. Another recent variant of this family was the KUKANOS Ransomware.
The Asistchinadecryption Ransomware attack is easy to recognize, because the file-locker uses a fairly unique suffix to mark the names of files it locks – '.asistchinadecryption .<VICTIM ID>.' Another change that victims will discover is a new text-file on their desktop, under the name '!!! ALL YOUR FILES ARE ENCRPYTED !!!.txt.' This document contains a short message from the criminals, shedding some light on their demands.
As you can probably guess, the creators of the Asistchinadecryption Ransomware are in it for the money. They promise to help victims to restore their files, as long as they pay a ransom fee via Bitcoin. The crooks also provide some contact details – the Jabber ID china_decr2021@xmpp.jp, and the email address asistchinadecryption2022@goat.si. Our advice is to ignore the offer of the criminals, because they could be planning to scam you out of your money. Instead of trusting anonymous crooks, use an anti-malware tool to eliminate the malware. Keep in mind that this will not undo the damage done to your files – you will still need to figure out how to restore them. The best option is to recover from a backup, but there are also 3rd-party data recovery utilities that could be of help.
