Online scammers have been quick to take advantage of the latest human tragedy – Russia's invasion of Ukraine. They have been bombarding the Internet with fake scams asking for money from users who are willing to support Ukrainians. Recently, cryptocurrency users have become the target of an email scam known as the 'Ukrainian Government is Embracing Digital Assets' Email Scam.

The unexpected email appears to be received by users all around the world, and it prompts users to donate to the Ukrainian Government via Bitcoin or Ethereum. While the Ukrainian government does accept such donations, you can rest assured that the Bitcoin/Ethereum addresses found in the 'Ukrainian Government is Embracing Digital Assets' Email Scam are not theirs. Instead, the wallets are used by scammers who are looking to steal money from victims of this scam. If you are looking to donate to such causes, you should never do it because of random ads, pop-ups, or emails – they might be fake. Instead, head to the official accounts/websites of the entity you are trying to support, and get the official addresses from there.
