What is the Achiva Email Scam?
There is a new email scam out and about, being distributed using malicious email spam. The name assigned to this new campaign is the "Achiva email" scam.
The scam consists of a fake price quote solicitation email. The scammers use the name and branding of a Vietnamese company. The full text of the scam email goes as follows:
Good Day Sir/Madam,
Attached is our RFQ.
Please quote your best price
We are very interested in buying. I would appreciate it if you can send me the price of a unit as well as discount for bulk orders
I need to make a decision in the next few days, so it is important that I get this information Find the atteched file and quote

The email has a compressed file attachment, usually a .GZ archive, that will contain some sort of malicious payload, depending on the specific instance. Malicious attachments are commonly used to distribute Trojans, viruses or other malicious payloads.
Never open files attached to unsolicited emails that ended up in your inbox, because chances are they are malicious.
