Remove Wnbe Ransomware

ransomware

The Wnbe Ransomware is a file-locker whose attack could render many of your files unusable. This threat is not part of any of the active ransomware families at the moment. This is likely to mean that its creators have written it from scratch. It is not yet clear whether Wnbe Ransomware's encryption is reversible for free – there is a chance that it might be flawed.

Unfortunately, the Wnbe Ransomware attack appears to be quite damaging for now. The malware is able to lock users out of the majority of their files by encrypting their contents. It appears to target documents, images, archives, and many other file types. Whenever it encrypts a file, the malware will append the '.wnbe' suffix to its name. It also delivers the ransom note 'read_instructions.txt' on the desktop.

Wnbe Ransomware Decryptor Costs $26.65

According to the ransom message, the criminals are selling a decryption application. However, it is not offered for free – they tell victims to pay $26.65 via Bitcoin. The criminals supply a Bitcoin address that appears to be empty, as well as the email anenomous31@gmail.com for contact.

Wnbe Ransomware

The ransom fee that the criminals ask for is relatively small, so it might be worth to pay it in order to get your data back. However, be warned that there is no guarantee that the criminals will help you after the money is sent. Many ransomware operators have no idea how to help their victims, and they never contact them after the Bitcoin payment is received – there is a chance that Wnbe Ransomware's operators might have the same plan. They provide no proof that they have a working decryptor. Regardless if you choose to pay or not, you should make sure to eliminate the Wnbe Ransomware with the use of an up-to-date malware removal application.
