Unitedearth.website Tries to Plant Ads in Browsers

new tab browser hijacker

Unitedearth dot website is the completely random and nonsensical name of a misleading website, set up with the exclusive purpose of planting annoying, often dangerous ads in the browsers of as many people as possible.

The website uses the same silly trick that a lot of similar nonsensical domains and websites use - it shows a fake video player image and several large-font messages, encouraging the user to "click allow to play the video".

There is nothing of value on similar pages, and there certainly is no video file. The trick is just to get visitors to click "allow" in the browser's "allow notifications" dialog box, so that Unitedearth dot website can push as many ads as possible in the user's browser, generating revenue for the site owners with each ad displayed and interacted with.

The ads displayed by similar pages can often link to other misleading pages, potentially unwanted software, or questionable adult content. The best way to handle similar setups where a random no-name page asks you to allow push notifications is to simply close your browser and walk away.
