What is T_TEN Ransomware?
T_TEN ransomware is a new strain of file-encrypting malware that belongs to the relatively unknown family of DCRTR ransomware clones.
T_TEN will encrypt the majority of files found on the victim system, leaving them unopenable. Encrypted files receive the ".T_TEN" extension. This means that a file formerly called "document.txt" will transform into "document.txt.T_TEN" upon successful encryption.
The T_TEN ransomware will encrypt most document, media, archive and database files.
The ransomware displays a lengthy ransom note in a pop-up window and deposits a shorter text inside a file named "Readme.txt". The more extensive ransom note displayed in the pop-up window goes as follows:
