Remove RZA Ransomware

vegalocker ransomware

The RZA Ransomware is a file-encryption Trojan that belongs to the Dharma family. Sadly, this is not good news. The fact that we know RZA Ransomware's origin does not change the fact that it is impossible to reverse its encryption. This file-locker uses a secure mechanism to encrypt the contents of files, and its reversal is only possible by using the unique decryption key that the RZA Ransomware generates for each victim. Sadly, this piece of information is not readily available. The malicious program stores it on the server of the attackers, and they are asking for money to release it.

The RZA Ransomware Focuses on Encrypting Important Files

When the RZA Ransomware takes over a system, it will immediately encrypt documents, videos, images, and other data. Whenever it locks a file, it will add a unique suffix to its name – '.id-<VICTIM ID>.[ghostdog@onionmail.org].RZA.'

Of course, this ransomware also drops a ransom note for the victim. Victims can view it by opening the file 'info.txt' that the RZA Ransomware drops on their desktop. According to this document, a ransom fee must be paid in order to recover the lost files. However, the criminals do not offer any guarantee that the victim can trust them. Instead, they ask to receive a ransom payment via Bitcoin and provide the emails ghostdog@onionmail.org and ghostdog@msgsafe.io for contact.

RZA Ransomware Ransom Note

Paying the ransom fee is a terrible idea since it would be easy for the attackers to scam you. They will take the money and never respond to your emails. It is never a good idea to co-operate with cybercriminals, and you should always consider this option to be a last resort. If the RZA Ransomware holds your files as hostages, then you should first try to recover them via legitimate means. Start by running an antivirus program to dispose of the malware. After this, explore the data recovery options and methods that other ransomware victims have found useful.
