Qotr ransomware is a type of Djvu ransomware that adds the ".qotr" extension to files after encrypting them. It generates a "_readme.txt" file with contact and payment information once it has encrypted data. Qotr changes the names of files to include the .qotr extension, so "1.jpg" will become "1.jpg.qotr". This ransomware is usually spread alongside malicious software such as RedLine and Vidar, which steal sensitive information from compromised systems before encryption takes place.
