What is Oiltraffic Ransomware and How to Remove Oiltraffic?

ransomware

The Oiltraffic Ransomware is a threat that security researchers have classified as a member of the VoidCrypt malware family. Although not displaying any improvement when compared to a typical variant of the VoidCrypt Ransomware family, the Oiltraffic Ransomware still has the potential for damaging numerous, crucial file types. When the Oiltraffic Ransomware is deployed to a targeted computer success, it starts its encryption process by using a strong, unbreakable cryptographic algorithm. From there on, the affected files stored on the infected device will be locked and unusable.

Also as a result of the encryption, each locked file name will be changed significantly. The Oiltraffic Ransomware appends '.Oiltraffic' to their original names as a new file extension. The next step of the Oiltraffic Ransomware will be to present its ransom-demanding message to the compromised device. The ransom note will be contained inside a text file named 'unlock-info.txt.'

The ransom note includes other details, such as the option to send a single encrypted file to the attackers to be decrypted for free, as a guarantee that they can recover the lost data. The only condition is that the file should not contain any crucial information. To send the file and get more instructions, victims are supposed to message two email addresses found in the note - 'lokilocker@tutanota.com' and 'lokilocker@onionmail.com.' The attackers also demand that the ransom payment should be made with the Bitcoin cryptocurrency.
