Remove Goose Ransomware
Goose Ransomware is a weird file-locker whose samples were retrieved from a popular file-scanning security service. We are yet to find out whether the creator of the Goose Ransomware is propagating it in order to infect victims, or if the malware was created for fun. What we can tell you for sure is that the Goose Ransomware is a capable file-encryption Trojan whose attack is able to hinder your entire system.
Just like other file-lockers, this one also focuses on encrypting important data – documents, images, archives, videos, and others. After it locks a file, the malware appends the suffix '.goose' to its original filename. For example, 'document.xlsx' would go by the name 'document.xlsx.goose.' Another change that the Goose Ransomware introduces is to spawn a file-locking window, which cannot be closed. It advises you to pay a ransom fee of $50 via Bitcoin, but does not provide additional details about the recipient's wallet. Instead, it prompts you to contact the attacker by using the email sukablyat.hardbas@gmail.com.
The criminals are likely to be amateurs since they are using a Gmail-based address, which is most likely going to be taken down due to being associated with malicious activity. We would not advise you to trust Goose Ransomware's creators or send them any money – they could end up scamming you.
The best bet for victims of Goose Ransomware is to run an anti-malware scanner to remove the malware, and then explore alternative data recovery options.
