Fisakalzb Ransomware Expands Snatch Family of Clones
Fisakalzb ransomware is a newly discovered member of the Snatch ransomware clone family.
The new strain does nothing spectacular or novel. It will encrypt most files found on the victim system and make them unreadable.
Encrypted file types will include media files, documents, archive files and executables. Once files are encrypted, they get the extension ".fisakalzb" appended to their original name. This will make a file called "image.jpg" turn into "image.jpg.fisakalzb" upon encryption.
The ransomware drops its ransom note inside a file named "HOW TO RESTORE YOUR FILES.TXT". The ransom note is written in English and goes as follows:
Hello!
