Mr Beast Giveaway Pop Up Scam
There is yet another scam being hosted on various domains online, this time abusing the name and brand of one of the most successful YouTube personalities - Jimmy Donaldson, known online as MrBeast.
The scam revolves around a fake giveaway with money prizes, promising $1000 to every MrBeast subscriber who follows the instructions on the scam's page.
It should be noted that this scam has nothing to do with the real MrBeast and he is not affiliated with it in any way. The reason why scammers decided to use this specific lure is that the real MrBeast did run multiple real giveaways in the past.
Following the instructions of the fake giveaway will lead users to download an application which will then ask for their Paypal email. The application scam victims are downloading is not trustworthy and it does data collection under the guise of entering victims into the fake prize pool.
You should always remember that there is no free lunch and even if you see a popular name like MrBeast under some supposed giveaway, make sure you always double-check the domain running it, so you can stay safe from similar scam attempts.
