'BSCPad $BUSD' Giveaway Scam Dangles Tasty Lure
A new scam trying to abuse the upheaval of interest in cryptocurrency is making the rounds. The scam is referred to as the "BSCPad $BUSD" scam, as it attempts to abuse the image and name of the legitimate BSCPad decentralized Binance platform.
When a victim lands on the page that the scam uses, they are faced with what is designed and skinned to look like a legitimate BSCPad page. It should be stressed that the page is in no way legitimate or connected to the official BSCPad site and platform.
The scam page promises victims free tokens, if they attempt to collect those tokens before a certain date, with the fake stipulation that the non-existent tokens will be "returned" to the treasury if still unclaimed past that point in time.
The scam page has a button that reads "Connect wallet". Obviously, if you enter your information in the forms and interface boxes that open once you click that button, you will be handing out your wallet information to the scammers running the fake page.
When dealing with similar scams, the best thing to do is to always double-check the page's URL, making sure it uses the exact same spelling as the official page of the platform being impersonated, as obviously scam websites use different, often misspelled domain names. Never expect to get anything of significant value for free and remember there is no free lunch, especially in the highly competitive world of crypto.
