'Your OneDrive Is Inactive And Will Soon Be Deleted' Scam Tries to Phish Out Credentials

There is yet another scam making the rounds currently. The latest attempt to scam people is called the "Your OneDrive Is Inactive And Will Soon Be Deleted" scam.

The gist of the scam is very simple - victims receive a malicious email that claims it's from Microsoft and tells the victim that their OneDrive business account has gone unused for 6 months and has been put on ice, pending permanent deletion.

The victims are told to use a fake, malicious link contained in the email to log into their account to stop the deletion from taking place. The link leads to a phishing fake login page that will simply harvest the victim's credentials and lead to the compromise of their account.

There are many very obvious tell-tale signs that the email is a scam and hopefully very few people will buy into it, from the poorly structured sentences and grammatical errors to the very obviously fake login page which shouldn't fool anybody who ever used OneDrive.

The full text of the scam email is as follows:

Your OneDrive is inactive and will soon be deleted

Your  - business account has been unused for 6 months and is currently frozen. Your files are still there, but your OneDrive and all files saved to that account  will be deleted on or after July 14, 2022 unless  sign in to OneDrive to reactivate it.
