Remove Wwka Ransomware
The STOP Ransomware continues to be one of the largest threats to the safety of Internet users. The damage that this malware does can be huge. It has one goal – to encrypt a large portion of the victim's files, rendering them useless. Unfortunately, this can be a major issue if the ransomware ends up infecting a workstation, which hosts important projects and documents. Of course. Losing your personal files can also be a major problem. But what do ransomware creators want? Wwka Ransomware is a New STOP Variant
The ransomware's payload is being spread online under the guise of a game crack, software activator, or another suspicious file. If a user ends up executing the malicious program on their device, they might notice anything out of the ordinary at first. However, Wwka Ransomware will start working in the background to execute several tasks:
- Encrypt popular types of files – documents, media, archives, backups, work projects, etc.
- Apply the '.wwka' extension to the files it locks.
- Drop the ransom note '_readme.txt.'
- Wipe out Shadow Volume Copies and System Restore Points.
According to the message that Wwka Ransomware drops, victims can contact manager@mailtemp.ch or helpmanager@airmail.cc for assistance. Unfortunately, messaging the criminals will not do much to help victims – they will be asked to pay a ransom fee of $490 in exchange for a decryption service. We advise against paying the ransom fee, because it is very likely that the ransomware's operators will try to scam you.
So, what should victims of the Wwka Ransomware do? The best strategy is to start by eliminating the malicious software with the use of an up-to-date anti-malware scanner. Once the threat is gone, victims can proceed to run 3rd-party data recovery tools.
