Remove Vyia Ransomware
Vyia Ransomware is a variation of the STOP/Djvu family of file-encryption Trojans. It uses a secure way to lock users out of their files, by encrypting their contents. Unfortunately, the Vyia Ransomware attack is very destructive because it affects a long list of file types – documents, images, archives, videos, and many others. When it locks a file, it will mark its name by adding the '.viya' suffix.' Another change that the Vyia Ransomware is responsible for is the creation of the '_readme.txt' ransom document.
The ransom note that the Vyia Ransomware uses, contains a long description of the attack, and the demands of the attackers. They are asking for a ransom payment from all victims, and promise to provide them with a decryptor in return. Allegedly, they ask for a fee of $490 via Bitcoin, but they threaten to double if if the victim does not pay within the next three days. Victims of the Vyia Ransomware should ignore the offer, because it would be incredibly easy for the cybercriminals to steal the money.
Instead of sending Bitcoin to crooks, you should use an up-to-date anti-malware tool to ensure Vyia Ransomware's removal. Once you do this, you can explore alternative data recovery options that could enable you to get some of your files back. Keep in mind that the only way to ensure a full recovery after the Vyia Ransomware attack is to restore your files from a recent backup.
