How to Avoid Series-protection.com Ads
Series-protection dot com is a misleading website that aims to scare its visitors by producing fake virus warnings.
Landing on Series-protection dot com, you will see a number of images, doctored to resemble the interface of a legitimate antivirus application. They might contain all sorts of scary messages. For example, the page may tell you that your system is infected with five different viruses, or that you visited an "unsafe site" and are now at risk.
All of those warnings are fake and are simply meant to scare the user. Similar misleading websites use such simple scare tactics either to abuse affiliate programs offered by legitimate antivirus apps or to push ads in your browser.
Series-protection dot com will also bring up the "allow notifications" dialog box in your browser. Clicking this will only allow potentially harmful ads from the page, usually served up through rogue ad networks.
Remember that there is not a single website that can scan your system and tell you if your computer is infected with viruses or not. Don't give in to your initial reaction and simply close similar misleading pages without clicking any buttons or links on them.
