Ravenlock Ransomware
Ravenlock ransomware is the name of a new ransomware strain, belonging to the MedusaLocker family.
The ransomware will encrypt the majority of the files found on the victim system, leaving them unopenable and unusable. Affected files include almost every media file type you can think of, as well as document, archive and database files. Once encrypted, the files recive the ".RAVENLOCK7" extension.
This means that if a file was previously called "document.doc", it will turn into "document.doc.RAVENLOCK7" once it has been encrypted.
Once it finishes encrypting all target files on a system, the Ravenlock ransomware drops its ransom demands inside a file named "HOW_TO_RECOVER_DATA.html".
