What is the Qnty Ransomware?

ransomware

Qnty Ransomware is a variation of the STOP/Djvu Ransomware. If it infects your system, you are likely to be in a lot of trouble. This file-locker will cause devastating damage to your data in a matter of minutes, and you might be unable to restore many of your files. Currently, the only reliable way to undo the Qnty Ransomware damage is to restore your files from a backup. However, the majority of users do not have a backup copy of their files – if they fall victim to this particular attack, they will be in a very unfortunate situation.

The goal of the Qnty Ransomware is to ensure that the victim cannot access their important files. The ransomware then drops a ransom note, which offers a solution – pay some Bitcoin to the criminals in exchange for a decryptor. Allegedly, Qnty Ransomware's creators ask for $490, but threaten to increase the fee for victims who do not pay immediately. The crooks also appear to offer free decryption of 1-2 small files – probably in an attempt to gain the victim's trust.

The full instructions of the Qnty Ransomware hackers can be found in the ransom note '_readme.txt' that will be created during the attack. We advise you not to consider accepting the offer, because paying a ransom fee to cybercriminals is unlikely to end well for you. There is nothing stopping them from taking your money without offering anything in return.

Instead of trusting the criminals, you should use an up-to-date security tool to eliminate the Qnty Ransomware immediately. After this is done, start restoring files from a backup. If you do not have one available, then it might be worth trying out 3rd-party data recovery tools.
