Qlln Malware Seeks Personal Files for Encryption Like Other Known Ransomware Threats
Qlln is a malware threat that has ransomware capabilities where it may seek out a vulnerable system by hiding in a spam email attachment. Upon the computer user opening the spam email attachment that’s malicious they may unleash the Qlln threat where it may find several files, encrypt them, and then demand a ransom payment to supposedly unlock and decrypt those same files.
The Qlln threat may essentially lock down an infected computer making it virtually useless for performing normal functions like surfing the web. It is important that Windows computer users utilize updated antispyware or antimalware tools to protect their system in the event of a ransomware attack or infiltration by Qlln.
Using antimalware programs will allow a computer user to safely detect and remove threats like Qlln, which could prevent them from causing system damage. However, if a threat like Qlln is able to cause damage, it is still in one’s best interest to remove Qlln using the application and then seek a recent system backup to restore files that Qlln may have damaged or encrypted.
