What is Pizzasucker Ransomware?

After analyzing the Pizzasucker Ransomware security researchers have concluded that it is another member of the Chaos Ransomware family. Just like other members of its family, the Pizzasucker Ransomware is focused on the encryption of its victims' files so that it has grounds to demand the payment of a ransom to decrypt the damaged data. To make the encrypted files easy to be spotted, the Pizzasucker Ransomware changes their names by adding the .ICQ@PIZZASUCKE suffix to them.

The next move of the Pizzasucker Ransomware will be to present its ransom message, which will be inside a text file named 'read_it.txt' and will cover the victims' screens entirely. The message affirms that the files are not damaged and any attempt to decrypt them using third party tools will be fatal. It also provides the 'Skype - PIZZASUCKER DECRYPTION' and ICQ live chat which works 24/7 - @PIZZASUCKER' as addresses for contact. The message also claims that they are willing to decrypt some files to prove that they are capable of reverting the files to their original state but does not mention the ransom amount they are demanding.

Ransomware infections are spread via social engineering, corrupted email attachments and other common techniques. Computer users that praise their machines and data security need to be very careful with the files and software they allow to enter their computers and always have a potent anti-malware program preventing the entrance of unwanted applications. Victims of the Pizzasucker Ransomware can recover their data if they have an updated backup of their files. Otherwise, they will be with a big problem on their hands. However, the security community is always trying to help and may release a free decryptor for the files disenabled by the Pizzasucker Ransomware.
