Remove Pandora Ransomware
Pandora Ransomware is a devastating piece of malware, whose attack on your system may be impossible to recover from. It is part of a malware family known as the Rook Ransomware – it is relatively unpopular compared to major file-lockers like the STOP/Djvu one. However, the Pandora Ransomware is not to be underestimated – if it encrypts a file, you will only be able to recover it via a backup. Alternatively, the criminals offer to sell a decryption service, but we assure you that this will not be cheap at all. It is never a good idea to try to co-operate with ransomware operators since they could easily scam you out of your money.
The Pandora Ransomware attack will use the '.pandora' suffix to mark the names of the files it locks. It will also delete the Shadow Volume Copies and the System Restore points to limit the victim's data recovery options even more. Finally, the Pandora Ransomware deploys the 'Restore_My_Files.txt' ransom note.
The criminals do not mention the exact price of the decryptor. Instead, they urge the victim to send a message to contact@pandoraxyz.xyz, use a TOR-based page to get in touch with the criminals. As we already mentioned, accepting the offer of the Pandora Ransomware operators is out of the question. Our advice is to use an up-to-date antivirus tool to dispose of the malware. After this, start recovering files from a backup. If a backup is not available, try out other data recovery options.
