Remove NoWay Ransomware

ransomware

The NoWay Ransomware is a new file-locker, which is not part of any of the active ransomware families. In many cases, this would be bad news since it would mean that malware  researchers are dealing with a brand new threat that needs to be studied. Thankfully, the NoWay Ransomware appears to be the product of amateurs who have failed to implement a secure file-locking mechanism. While the NoWay Ransomware is still able to encrypt files, this operation can be reversed with the use of the free NoWay decryptor. There is no need to pay money to the attackers.

When the NoWay Ransomware takes over a machine, it will execute its attack in just a few minutes. In addition to encrypting the contents of dozens of file formats, the threat will also encode the original filename, and then apply the '.noway' extension to it.

NoWay Ransomware is Decryptable for Free

It also drops the ransom note 'Unlock your file Instraction.txt' on the desktop. This document advises victims to avoid 3rd-party data recovery tool, warning them that this could damage their files even further. The criminals promise to provide all victims with a decryptor, as soon as the send $250 worth of Bitcoin to the attackers' wallet. In addition to these instructions, the crooks also mention the email address Michael.adler@swsemarketing.ca. It appears that the criminals have managed to compromised the security of this website, and set up an email there.

NoWay Ransomware

Victims of the NoWay Ransomware must disregard the instructions of the attackers. Instead, it is recommended to run an anti-malware tool to eliminate the threat. After this, explore alternative data recovery options.
