Remove Iisa Ransomware

File-lockers are pieces of malware with the ability to encrypt a large portion of the files on infected systems. One of the popular file-locker families in recent years has been the STOP/Djvu Ransomware and, unfortunately, it is still responsible for a significant portion of ransomware attacks worldwide. This family consists of hundreds of file-encryption Trojans, such as the newly identified iisa Ransomware. This threat is able to execute a swift and damaging attack, which locks the contents of images, documents, archives, backups, databases, and various other file formats.

Of course, locking files is just one of the stages that the iisa Ransomware aims to complete. It also tags the names of locked files with the suffix '.iisa' before dropping the ransom document '_readme.txt.' The latter contains a message from the ransomware creators. They claim to sell a decryptor for $490, and they say that this price is only valid for 72 hours – after this period, victims will need to pay $980. Finally, they state that they only accept Bitcoin for payments, and use the emails manager@mailtemp.ch and helprestoremanager@airmail.cc.

Should You Pay the Ransom Fee?

Co-operating with ransomware creators is never a good idea. They can easily take the money without offering anything in return – this has happened numerous times in the past. Instead of trusting iisa Ransomware's creators, you should use an antivirus tool to eliminate the malicious program. Once you take care of this, you should start looking into popular data recovery options and software. Protecting yourself from other ransomware attacks by using reputable antivirus software at all times, and by staying away from shady files. Threats like the iisa Ransomware may often arrive through game cracks, pirated software, pirated media, and other dodgy files that you should stay away from.
