Remove Hinduism Ransomware

Cybercriminals often rely on ready-to-use malware, which can quickly be tailored to fit their needs. One of the popular ransomware families of 2021 has been the Makop Ransomware and, unfortunately, a new threat part of this family has been discovered recently. The malware, dubbed the Hinduism Ransomware, is able to encrypt a wide range of file formats. By doing so, it prevents anyone from opening them. The only reliable ways to undo the damage is to either restore the original file from a backup or to run a suitable decryptor. The latter option, however, can only be completed by acquiring a decryption key, which is stored on the servers of Hinduism Ransomware's operators. Needless to say, they are not giving it away for free – instead, they extort their victims for money.

Falling victim to the Hinduism Ransomware attack can be devastating because of this threat's ability to cause massive damage to the file system. If this happens, you will notice that many of your files have had the '.hindiusm' extension added to their name – this is the method this file-locker uses to let the victim know what files are inaccessible. The ransomware also creates the document 'readme-warning.txt' – it contains a message from the perpetrators.

Hinduism Ransomware Ransom Note

The Hinduism Ransomware is not Decryptable

According to the ransom document, victims can contact hinduism0720@tutanota.com, pecunia0318@protonmail.ch, and pecunia0318@goat.si for assistance. The criminals state that the decryptor is available to anyone who agrees to pay a ransom fee – the exact sum is not specified. If the Hinduism Ransomware is similar to other file-lockers, you can rest assured that it will cost you at least a few hundred dollars.

You should not accept the offer of the criminals – they might scam you as soon as you send them any money. Our suggestion is to make sure that the ransomware is removed with the help of an up-to-date anti-malware tool. Once you do this, you can experiment with alternative data recovery options, or, ideally, you would restore your files from a backup.
