Remove HELPME Ransomware
Having your system infiltrated by the HELPME Ransomware is likely to have terrible consequences for your files. The goal of this malware is to encrypt as many of your files as possible, and then extort you for money. It locks files by encrypting their contents and, unfortunately, undoing the damage is next to impossible. The creators of the HELPME Ransomware hold all decryption keys that the victims need, but they are only willing to sell it to victims who send some Bitcoin to their wallet.
Victims of the HELPME Ransomware will recognize the attack by the unique extension this file-locker uses to mark files – '.[ID-<VICTIM ID>].[bugagaga@tuta.io].HELPME.' Another change that the threat brings is to create the ransom message 'decrypt_info.txt' on the user's desktop.
What do the HELPME Ransomware Creators Say?
According to the ransom message, victims can contact the attackers either via the email bugagaga@tuta.io, or the Telegram ID @Online7_365. The criminals do not mention the exact amount of money they demand to receive, but their service is likely to be expensive. Often, ransomware operators demand at least a few hundred hours from their targets.
Paying the ransom fee is not a good idea. Not only will the crooks use the money to develop more malware, but they might also scam you. There is nothing guaranteeing that you will get your files back after sending them the money. Victims of the HELPME Ransomware should ignore the offer of the criminals. Instead, they need to run an antivirus scanner to eliminate the threat. Once this has bene taken care of, they can try out alternative data recovery tools and measures.
