Remove Fileslock Ransomware
The Fileslock Ransomware is a piece of malware, which carries out a devastating file-locking attack. Malware of this type is often delivered to users through pirated content, fake downloads, or deceptive email attachments. The best way to protect your system and your files is to use a reliable antivirus software suite at all times. In addition to this, maintaining offline or cloud backups of your files is another way to recover from a potential ransomware attack.
The Fileslock Ransomware belongs to the MedusaLocker family of file-encryption Trojans. Unfortunately, these are not decryptable via free tools, and their victims might have a hard time trying to restore their data.
When the Fileslock Ransomware infiltrates a system, it will lock documents, images, archives, and many other files. It will then append the '.fileslock' extension to their original names. Finally, this Trojan drops the ransom document 'HOW_TO_RECOVER_DATA.html.'
The message of the attackers assures victims that they will not find a data recovery tool for free. Instead, the criminals advise them to pay a ransom fee in exchange for a working decryptor. The ransom sum is not mentioned, but it is likely that Fileslock Ransomware's operators will demand at least a few hundred dollars. They also list the emails for contact - firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com. If your data is locked by the Fileslock Ransomware, you should not accept to pay any money. Instead, use an antivirus scanner to terminate the file-locker. After this, start restoring files from a backup, or use alternative data recovery tools.
