EssentialPanel
1If you notice the name EssentialPanel in your list of active or installed Mac applications, then you should know that you have a minor issue with a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP.) EssentialPanel falls in the latter category of software. It has no valuable features to offer, and it is being reported as an intrusive application by reputable Mac security applications. While the removal of EssentialPanel is not mandatory, it is the best thing to do in order to avoid the annoying changes that EssentialPanel has the ability to introduce.
But how did this software end up on your hard drive? This might have happened even if you do not recall downloading and installing EssentialPanel manually. It might have been delivered alongside other apps (software bundling,) or it might have been installed with the use of a fake installer/updater that you fell for.
The good news is that EssentialPanel is not dangerous. The changes that EssentialPanel typically brings affect the default Web browser – it might have its search aggregator and new tab page replaced by a 3rd-party site. To avoid this issue, simply run an up-to-date Mac security scanner to quickly dispose of EssentialPanel's files.
