Remove DT Ransomware
Falling victim to a ransomware attack is guaranteed to be a miserable experience. Typically, users deal with malware by running an antivirus product to eliminate the malicious program. Ransomware, however, is not that easy to deal with. Threats like the DT Ransomware cause long-lasting damage to your files – even if you remove the threat, you will still need to find a way to deal with the consequences of the attack. Unfortunately, there is not much that users can do when it comes to dealing with DT Ransomware's attack. This file-locker uses an excellent file-encryption algorithm, which is irreversible via free software.
The DT Ransomware is part of the Dharma Ransomware family. It is being spread on the Internet through the use of fake downloads, deceptive advertisements, phishing emails, and other dubious content. If it ends up on your system, it will swiftly encrypt a large portion of your files. The file-locker prioritizes the encryption of documents, media, archives, databases, and backups.
After carrying out its attack, the ransomware will rename the files it damages by using the suffix '.id-<VICTIM ID>.[dates@onionmail.org].DT.' It also leaves the ransom note 'info.txt' for the victim to read. The same tasks are performed by other Dharma variants like the OFF Ransomware.
Unsurprisingly, the crooks are asking for a ransom payment. They want to receive the money via Bitcoin, but they do not provide proof that they have a working decryptor. They only ask the victim to contact them at datos@onionmail.org or datos@msgsafe.io for additional information. We advise you not to trust them – the risk of being scammed is too high. Instead, run an antivirus scanner to eliminate the threat. After this, you should be able to recover your files from a backup. If a backup is not available, the new suggest experimenting with alternative data recovery options.
