What is Anthraxbulletproof Ransomware?

Anthraxbulletproof is the mouthful of a name given to a newly discovered variant of the Chaos ransomware family.

Anthraxbulletproof does nothing special, apart from having a silly name. The ransomware behaves exactly like other Chaos clones. It will encrypt most extensions and file types and change their names.

The ".Anthraxbulletproof" extension gets appended onto each file that gets encrypted. This will transform a file called "image.png" into "image.png.Anthraxbulletproof" once it gets encrypted.

The ransom note uses the same file name that we have seen in many other Chaos clones and variants before and asks for $10 thousand worth of cryptocurrency as ransom payment. The full note goes as follows:
