AndreiHelp is the name of yet another ransomware that was discovered in August 2022. The new ransomware does not seem to belong to any larger family of variants.
AndreiHelp will encrypt files on the targeted system, leaving them in an unusable state. Encrypted files will change name, with the ransomware appending the victim's ID, the contact email used by the ransomware operator and the string ".B2tb" at the end of encrypted files.
This means that a file formerly called "document.txt" will turn into "document.txt.[ID=alphanumeric string]-Mail=andreihelp@cyberfear.com].B2tb" upon encryption.
Encrypted file types include almost every media, document, archive and database extension, as is customary for most ransomware.
The ransom note is contained inside a file named "Read_Me!_.txt" and goes as follows:
