Remove ActionHow
ActionHow is an intrusive Mac application that may be installed without the user's approval. It uses a deceptive installation method in order to trick the user into believing it is being installed for legitimate purposes and then modifies the default settings of their Web browser and may also change or add new ones. Further, it is identified as a PUP and may change the Web browser's default search engine and new tab page. For those reasons, we do not recommend installing ActionHow. Furthermore, if you notice this software installed on your Mac, you should take the appropriate steps to ensure its full removal.
ActionHow should not be mistaken for dangerous software – it possesses no harmful traits. It may, however, worsen your Web browsing experience by forcing you to use alternative websites whenever you load a new tab or try to search the Web. The page that ActionHow promotes is typically a search engine, which poses as a useful utility. It, however, prioritizes sponsored results and ads, and is unlikely to deliver reliable search results.
PUPs like ActionHow may regularly check on your browser settings to make sure that it is using the search engine they are promoting. This is why users may find it impossible to fix their browser configuration without removing ActionHow first. The best way to deal with PUPs like this is to run an up-to-date Mac security scanner.
