Cyberpunk ransomware to nowo odkryta odmiana należąca do rodziny klonów ransomware Dharma.

Cyberpunk szyfruje pliki i zmienia nazwy plików, dodając złożone nowe rozszerzenie. Nowe rozszerzenie składa się z ciągu identyfikatora ofiary, adresu e-mail używanego przez hakera do kontaktu oraz ciągu „.CYBER”.

Proces szyfrowania zmieni plik o nazwie „document.txt” w „document.txt.id-[ciąg alfanumeryczny].[cyberpunk@onionmail.org].CYBER”.

Oprogramowanie ransomware umieszcza notatkę z żądaniem okupu w pliku o nazwie „CYBER.txt”. Wyświetlane jest również wyskakujące okienko, zawierające dłuższą wersję notatki, która wygląda następująco:
