Cyberpunk-ransomware

Cyberpunk ransomware is een nieuw ontdekte stam die behoort tot de Dharma ransomware-familie van klonen.

Cyberpunk versleutelt bestanden en verandert de bestandsnamen, waardoor een complexe nieuwe extensie wordt toegevoegd. De nieuwe extensie bestaat uit de slachtoffer-ID-string, het e-mailadres dat door de hacker wordt gebruikt om contact op te nemen en de string ".CYBER".

Het coderingsproces verandert een bestand met de naam "document.txt" in "document.txt.id-[alfanumerieke string].[cyberpunk@onionmail.org].CYBER".

De ransomware dropt zijn losgeldbrief in een bestand met de naam "CYBER.txt". Er wordt ook een pop-upvenster weergegeven met een langere versie van de notitie die als volgt gaat:
