Pc-protections.com Attempts Cheap Fake Virus Scares

Pc-protections dot com is a misleading website that is doing two things at once - trying to push ads inside your browser and trying to sell you product.

Like many other similar misleading pages, it has been set up above all to confuse, scare and mislead visitors. Landing on similar misleading sites, you will see images styled to resemble the interface of a legitimate antivirus application. Those fake interface boxes usually contain scary warnings about the dire state of your system. All those warnings will always be fake.

Along with this, the misleading page will usually attempt to get the user to allow push notifications and use this functionality to spam the browser with potentially harmful ads, often sourced through rogue ad networks.

Some pages also abuse valid and legitimate affiliate programs operated by legitimate antivirus software providers and will attempt to "sell" the visitor a subscription, under the false pretense that their system is on the brink of destruction due to dangerous viruses.

Remember that all those sites are trying to mislead you and scare you with fake warnings and never trust anything you see on them.
