Zate Ransomware è un altro clone di Djvu
Zate ransomware è una nuova variante di ransomware che amplia la già numerosa famiglia di cloni Djvu.
La nuova variante Djvu crittografa i file e si comporta proprio come i suoi fratelli. Il ransomware Zate confonderà database, file di documenti, archivi e file multimediali sul sistema di destinazione. Anche i file eseguibili verranno crittografati.
Una volta crittografati, i file ricevono l'estensione ".zate". Questo trasformerà un file chiamato "notes.txt" in "notes.txt.zate".
Le richieste di riscatto vengono depositate all'interno di un file di testo denominato "_readme.txt". La nota richiede $ 490 di riscatto, con il riscatto che sale a $ 980 se non viene pagato entro 72 ore. La nota completa è la seguente:
