How to Uninstall JDownloader
JDownloader is a bit of a thing of the past - a download manager, written in Java. With how advanced integrated download managers in browsers are these days, including the ability to pause and resume downloads, download managers have become a bit obsolete, especially considering the widespread access to high bandwidth connections.
Additionally, the current version of JDownloader, titled JDownloader 2 on the official website, trips up the security alerts in the Windows 10 integrated Windows Defender security app, which flags the JDownloader installer as a potentially unwanted program, under the designation PUA:Win32/ICBundler.
With all this in mind, if you want to uninstall JDownloader from your system, this article will provide you with a brief and easy to follow guide on how to do that.
If you are uninstalling JDownloader from a Windows 10 PC, do the following:
-
Table of Contents
Open your start menu, then type “control panel” and click the Control Panel app icon to open it.
-
In the control panel window, click on Programs and Features.
-
In the list of installed application that comes up, find JDownloader and right click on it.
-

If you are uninstalling JDownloader from a Mac computer, do the following:
-
Open your Applications folder, using the dock shortcut or navigating there through Finder.
-
Find the JDownloader app icon, then drag and drop it onto your Trash.
-
Check for the following files on your system:
~Library/Preferences/org.jdownloader.launcher.plist
~Library/Preferences/com.install4j.installations..plist
~Library/Saved Application State/org.jdownloader.launcher.savedState
~Library/Saved Application State/com.install4j.jdownloader2.uninstaller.savedState
~/private/var/folders/I8/com.install4j.jdownloader2.9702
~/private/var/folders/I8/com.install4j.jdownloader2.uninstaller
You may have slightly different files, depending on the version of JDownloader you installed and used. You can delete those files.

This should be enough to fully uninstall JDownloader from your computer, regardless of the operating system you use.
