How to Avoid WowShortVideos.com Ads

WowShortVideos dot com is a misleading website that promises fake media content in order to lure users into accepting ads in their browsers.

Like many similar misleading pages, WowShortVideos dot com uses the lure of fake videos to get people to click "allow" and permit push notifications on their system. Once the page loads up, visitors are greeted with text telling them to "click the allow button to subscribe to the push notifications and continue watching".

Funny wording, because you won't be watching anything at this point. The page simply has a fake loading bar and no real content on it, as its only purpose is to get you to allow notifications.

Misleading websites abuse push notification functionality to push ads in your browser. A lot of the time, similar misleading pages work together with rogue ad networks. This means the ads displayed may link to questionable content, other misleading sites, online scams or phishing pages, as well as potentially unwanted program installers.

If you make it a rule of thumb never to click on any buttons or links that unfamiliar sites aggressively stick in your face immediately upon loading, you will be much safer online.
