Easy File Downloading Does Far Less than It Claims
Easy File Downloading is the name of a browser extension. According to its own description, it will help you manage and organize your downloads better.
In reality, the extension does so little, it borders on a potentially unwanted program and one has to wonder what its purpose is. After installing and trying out the extension, we discovered it does absolutely nothing you can't already do with Chrome's default, built-in download manager.
Easy File Downloading comes with several buttons that give you access to features and functionality that are already inside Chrome's download manager. There is nothing that adds any meaningful functionality or value for the user here.
The extension's website does state that Easy File Downloading and the entity behind it will "correspond with advertisers, data management platforms, and ad networks to customize online behavioral advertisements that are created to target users' interests." If anything, this makes the extension look like it's a piece of adware posing as a download manager more than anything.
