'Army of Ukraine Needs Your Support' Email Scam
Unfortunately, cybercriminals have no morale when it comes to scamming users with the use of misleading information. One of the latest scam focuses on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Recipients are typically involved in trading cryptocurrencies, and they are approached via email or social medial. The 'Army of Ukraine Needs Your Support' Email Scam says users that they have the opportunity to support the army of Ukraine – by sending Bitcoin, USDT, or Ethereum to their addresses.
The criminals use a peculiar way to gain the trust of their victims. They link to a legitimate Ukrainian government website, which confirms that the army of Ukraine does accept such donations. However, the addresses shown in the email are different than the one shown in the government website. This means that any donations sent to the fraudulent addresses will be collected by the con artists behind the 'Army of Ukraine Needs Your Support' Email Scam. Never donate to random causes that you found in your email inbox – they are very likely to be a scam. Do your research properly, and only send money to accounts or addresses, which you are 100% sure belong to the proper recipient.
