What is the Playless Videos Rogue Extension?
Playless Videos is the name of a rogue browser extension that claims to remove ads in online videos you watch. However, the little surprise contained in Playless Videos that is not announced to users is that the extension also acts as adware.
Playless Videos, being a rogue extension, is not listed or offered on the official Chrome Web Store at all, and with good reason. The extension will inject advertising in pages you visit and may also display ads as pop-ups inside your browser.
This behavior is undesirable for one chief reason. Adware apps often partner up with rogue ad networks. This in turn means that the ads originating from them may link to scam or phishing portals, untrustworthy websites and questionable online content.
If you see a random website offering you to install Playless Videos in your browser, you should first decline, then pause to think why you would want a random no-name extension when there are multiple popular and safe alternatives that offer actual ad-blocking functionality, only without the adware component.
